Palette: ten presets inspired by painting

A painting and a photo don't do the same thing with light. A painter chooses, leaves out, emphasises. A camera records everything at once. Palette is made to bring that choice back: ten presets, each built around a different painterly technique, from deep chiaroscuro to light watercolour.

Ten techniques, one shared eye

Every preset in Palette borrows something from painting. Deep contrast with a single light source, an airy touch with soft colour, or the matte calm of pastel. They share the same base: controlled highlights and skin that stays alive, even as the rest of the image leans into a style. You will find the whole pack on the Palette pack page.

Two favourites

Chiaroscuro is the most dramatic of the ten: a single warm point of light against a near-black rest. Just enough light to let a face speak, with everything else pulled away.

Want warmth instead of drama? Sunflower is its counterpart. Saturated yellow and warm ochre, as if the sun falls straight onto the canvas. Good for a still life, a garden, or just a photo that calls for colour.

For anyone who treats photography like painting

Palette is for anyone who would rather have a photo feel like a painting than a document. Portraits with a single light source, still life, landscapes in soft colour. The presets work in Lightroom and Capture One, and you control the strength yourself so the technique fits your photo.
